I have not been able to read most of my books. The ophthalmologists I have seen were as helpful as having a rock in your shoe, including not even suggesting that I try magnification reading glasses. I had tried those in the past, but always the very cheap pairs, and, big surprise, they did not help.It happened that I was frustrated enough about not getting the experts to do an expert job, yet getting high pay for it, when I passed a display of these Foster Grant glasses in a store. I tried them on. With a rack of magazines nearby, I was able to test them out, and I could see to read. I did not buy them in the store as the cost was prohibitive for me, but I would have done so, had I not been able to find them online for far less.The stems are well-hinged. I expect they will hold up over time, and, again, the clarity of the lenses I received, with no distortion, is remarkably good. (Better than prescription glasses I have). The case is also well-made. The glasses also fit my head and the bridge of my nose, perfectly. This may not be the case for everyone, but for me, they are perfect.
