I have tried SO MANY pesto sauces and this is the best one on the market by far. Growing up, my family made homemade pesto sauce but it takes a mountain of fresh basil to do so. I like having a really good premade brand. I use a bit as a base for a salad dressing (with additional olive oil and balsamic vinegar) and also use it as a base for a truly delicious bean and vegetable soup. I only occasionally use it on pasta as I rarely eat pasta, but it's good on that as well. FYI, this "sauce" is mostly the consistency of a paste with a bit of olive oil on the top of the jar (natural separation--I simply stir once I open the jar). The few times I've used it on pasta, I added just a bit more olive oil to the sauce to get a bit thinner consistency.The price I paid, with shipping ($94) for a dozen jars is less than I'd pay, per jar, in all of the premium stores that sell it (my everyday grocery stores don't carry this item). I highly recommend for those who want a simply delicious, authentically Italian pesto sauce.
